Dr. Orna Issler Visits Class 5-2

On Thursday afternoon, Shir’s mom, Dr. Orna Issler, came in to teach a lesson on neurology and the brain in Class 5-2. The children learned about the different parts of the brain and their functions. They were not only able to see a model of the brain, but were also able to compare and contrast brains from a range of once living creatures. Children were also able to glove up and touch a real human brain (pretreated by a lab)! Scientist Orna also introduced DNA as the driving blueprint for every living thing, and the children then performed an experiment abstracting DNA from a strawberry! Very cool stuff! Thank you Orna for wowing all the children AND adults in the room!
